Syra Simsuangco wants to inspire people through art. She plans to do
screen acting, so she is beginning her study of theater at UCSD. She also
wants to write songs, write a book, design fashion, and take on other
creative endeavors to inspire others. The daughter of immigrants, Syra has
an engaging personality and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Among many acting experiences, her first was in an elementary school
play, and last year she had a supporting role in her high school musical,
“Rent”. Her artistry in music and dance also includes playing the clarinet,
and doing Ballet Folklorico and Laotian dance. And she plays tennis. Along
with honor-roll grades in school, she won an award for perfect attendance.
Syra is inspiring, to be sure.
